We are excited to announce the Jr. NBA program is coming to the KVBA for the 2019-20 season.
The Jr NBA – Canada Basketball’s comprehensive development grassroots program – is coming to the KVBA.
Beginning in October, the program will be available for all house league players in the puppy, under 8, under 10 and under 12 divisions.
Each player will receive an Under Armour Jr. NBA dry fit t-shirt and their own ball as well as a certificate to end the season. In addition, the program covers each player’s insurance.
The cross-Canada program aims to have cohesive development at the youngest levels of play across Canada and as such, it features a series of 45-to-75 minute lesson plans that can be adapted depending on the ages and skill levels of the players.
Each lesson has various tiers as well and all our coaches will have access to these step-by-step plans for their season ahead. The plans are available on line and are perfect for new coaches just beginning the sport to those with experience looking to adapt their approach.
Craig Arbeau, our technical director, will oversee the implementation of the program this season.
Craig is a veteran coach in our association and last year served as the under 8 house league director.
